Holds a degree in Architecture (FAUTL, 1990), and a postgraduation in Rehabilitation of Structures and Pathology of Materials at Instituto Superior Técnico (1990) and a PhD in Architecture at the University of Seville (2003). He is a lecturer at ISCTE-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa in the Department of Architecture and Urbanism, where he as been director since July 2016. He was President of the Pedagogical Council of ISCTE-IUL during the biennium 2013-2014. He develops university research at the DINÂMIA'CET-IUL and has integrated research projects funded by FCT. He is the author and co-author of books, chapters of books and scientific articles, both nationally and internationally.
