Short Bio

Alexandra Saraiva (Vila Nova de Gaia, 1972) is an architect (1995), master (2008) and Ph.D. in Architecture (2011). Professor at the Lusíada University of Porto, since 1996. Advisor of master theses integrated in Architecture. Researcher (2007-2015) at the Centre for Research in Territory, Architecture and Design - CITAD. Between 2015 and 2022 joined ISCTE's DINÂMIA'CET-IUL, with FCT Post Doctoral Grant. In April 2022, Alexandra started an individual Grant to Scientific Employment Stimulus - 4th Edition, for the development of the research “Learning from the past: the importance of former housing participatory production for the coming years”, at ISCTE. Her scientific activity focuses on the following areas of research: History of Architecture and Urbanism Contemporaneous in Portugal; Housing; Contemporary architectural and urban heritage in Portugal. Alexandra published several articles in specialized magazines and international conferences and has experience in exhibition curatorship. Since 2022 Alexandra is coeditor, of PASSAGENS, an academic magazine edited by DINAMIA'CET.
