PhD in Economics at the University of Leicester. Assistant Professor at ISCTE-University Institute of Lisbon and researcher at DINÂMIA’CET-IUL.

My research programme seeks to study the behaviour of banks and financial institutions, as well as their productivity and social impact.   In the next five years I will study the productivity of banks in Portugal, the role of microcredit institutions in Europe, and the interaction between financial institutions and the pension system.

My individual work programme contributes to the Governance, Economics and Society research group, particularly when I study the regulation of the banking system.  My research programme is done in cooperation with other members DINÂMIA’CET and receives the financial support from the centre.
