Cultures of rehabilitation of old buildings through the critical analysis of the transformations beyond the façade of a selected case study: the Cais do Sodré - Rato axis, during the period 1980-2020. The concept of palimpsest, applied to the city and to the old buildings, is taken as the core theoretical framework. This research project intends to contribute to the knowledge about the evolution of the rehabilitation cultures as long time processes associated with the changes in the ways of living.
