My research interests span across two main areas:

Urban Creative Clusters

This multidisciplinary strand of work investigates the relationship between economic activities and the spatial configuration of the city, the use and production of space, and associated planning policies. It stems from my PhD which examined these relationships in a cluster of digital production (Shoreditch, London). Drawing on ‘productionist’ literature, the study develops a new approach investigating these relationships through the spatiality of work.

Urban Design

This strand of work focuses on Urban Design, particularly on issues that support teaching practice:

Urban Design Research & Methodologies: reviews theoretical and methodological approaches in Urban Design Research (with Dr. Hooman Araabi, University of the West of England);

Research by Design in Urban Design Education: explores the conceptual basis and teaching practices in this type of research;

Housing: examines form, typologies and policies.
