Ongoing research will continue with an approach of historical, technical and architectural emphasis to: - Dams carried out in Angola during the colonial period, with a more concrete emphasis on the Cambambe Dam, on the Cuanza river. - Nacala Cement Factory, executed at the turn of the decade of '50 to '60 north of that Mozambican city. For these purposes, it is envisaged the continuation of consultation of primary sources and of interviews related to them, with the prospect of traveling to these places with a view to the production of scientific publications.

 

The individual work is part of a line of research that has been consolidated in the medium-term past of DC-IUL, and even ISCTE-IUL, in the post-colonial research on architectural and infrastructural achievements in the former overseas provinces Portuguese-speaking countries in Africa, focusing particularly on the FCTC PTDC / ATP-AQI / 0742/2014 project hosted in the research unit. In this sense, the aim is to produce knowledge and to disseminate and publish it, specifically and transversally fulfilling the purposes of the researcher and the UI that it integrates, and the commitments they assume to the FCT regarding the achievement of the objectives of the project in question.
