Short Bio
PhD in Economic and Organizational Sociology by Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão da Universidade Técnica de Lisboa (2002). Master in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (1998). Degree in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (1992). Associate Professor at the Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias. Founding member of the Associação Portuguesa de Direito do Trabalho - APODIT. Author and co-author of several books and scientific publications in the areas of Labour Law, Economic Sociology and Organizations, Human Resources Management and Digital work.Currently, she is member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal on Working Conditions and of the journal Economia e Segurança Social.

Her individual research program includes the scientific areas of Sociology and Law. And thus, in Sociology, the topics of gender equality, work-life balance, precarious employment, and long term unemployment; in Law, the topics of Labour Law (employment contract, parenting, teleworking, organisation of working time and digital work), and Social Security Law. The main areas of personal research are strongly related to the areas of research developed by the Labour Research Centre on the theme of social cohesion and labour market segmentation, in particular on gender equality, job insecurity, unemployment and inequalities at work.
