Short Bio

Evaldo Costa is an interdisciplinary post-doctoral researcher. He has a master’s degree in Business and Management of Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV) and a Ph.D. in Business Economics of Vrije Universiteit Brussels (VUB), and Ph.D. in Climate Change and Sustainable Development Policies of NOVA School of Science and Technology of New University of Lisbon (NSST-NUL). His experience includes environmental science (business model innovations, policy, and management) and engineering science (inventory of CO2 emissions from the transport and energy sectors and infrastructure for e-mobility). His research interests include innovation processes of reducing carbon intensity in energy and transport sectors, energy transition (renewable energy sources), climate change, and circular economy. Currently, his research is focused on decarbonization strategies on the transition to a sustainable energy system. He has a solid experience in both business and academic fields. Before, his academic career, he worked many years as leadership positions and as a consultant in the automotive industry.

Sus2Trans - Sustainable Transformative Transitions - Reconcile the Acceleration of Low Carbon Transitions with System Transformations. The project investigates the types of decarbonization strategies that comply with the Paris Agreement, whose implementation requires the transformation of several sectors besides energy, such as mobility, construction, agri-food and industry.
