Short Bio
Currently Maître de Conférences (Associate Professor) at the University of Paris, in the Department of Psychology, I have been developing research and teaching in the field of psychodynamics of work and clinical psychology on the issue of suffering at work.
I did my thesis dissertation in psychopathology and psychodynamics of work under the direction of Professor Christophe Dejours at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers de Paris, on the relationship between new forms of work organisation and ethical suffering.
Today, I continue to work in this area, particularly through research carried out within the framework of the Observatório para as Condições de Vida e de Trabalho of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa and the Instituto Superior Técnico.

In short, my work focuses, on the one hand, on the development of conceptual and theoretical tools to analyse and understand the aetiology of suffering at work and, on the other hand, on the conceptualization of clinical methods of action to prevent and treat this suffering at work. These clinical concerns are part of a broader attempt to understand the centrality of work to both individuals and societies. The project I am developing within Dinâmia is specifically concerned with the analysis of the categories used to describe, analyse and understand the 'ills of work' in the portuguese context.
