research project at dinâmia'cet-Iscte
In the beginning of the century, when the speed of web download is more important than moving in the city, when pollution, traffic jam, insecurity, and the desertification of urban centers, require a fast and effective intervention of urban management, the use of softer mobilities is one solution for reversing and canceling the situation. Man needs to provide conditions to live in the city with confort, trust, security, pleasure, relearning to walk the city.Man is the key for contemporary urban planning. The way he walks the territory and understands it, allows him to take ownership of it, to want to live it, to feel it as his own. The aim of the research is to retake the concept of flâneur, adapting it to the present time. In the 21st Century, what is the role of the flâneur in the age of digital technology? Is there a new type, the technological flâneur? In what way, and based on this technological flâneur, can one intervene in public space?Starting from an analysis of a territory, this work aims to define a proposal of urban intervention of space, through a pedestrian perspective, and providing sensorially and interventive stimulation.
