research project

My individual research project focuses on the study of territorial cultural and creative dynamics and their interrelations with tourism in Portugal. At the same time, a second line of research that I am interested in developing is related to the recent tourism trends that are emerging globally, in particular the “new” urban tourism, and the transformations they cause in the planning, development and dynamics of territories and local communities.

In terms of methodological approaches, I am interested in using, preferably, social network analysis (SNA) and content analysis (using Gephi and Nvivo software, respectively, as tools to support research).

This  individual work program is directly related to the main thematic  focuses of D'C and, in particular, the group "Cities and Territories".  Tourism is a relevant economic activity, which is important to reflect  on and investigate from the perspective of cultural and creative  dynamics, taking into account socio-economic change and its impacts on  the territory and local communities.
