The eastern waterfront of Lisbon is a complex, post-industrial and semi-peripheral, which requires rethinking its urban management. This PhD is based on its operational concept and interventions in the area under study, through the confrontation between the Lisbon Master Plan (1964) and the Lisbon Municipal Master Plan (1994). We propose prospectively ways of managing contemporary urban space with a municipal focus in an area in urban decline but potentially emerging in the future, through a global perspective that encompasses the past as a socio-economic asset.
