presentation

The expansion of higher education and the Bologna process have contributed to place graduate employability in the political agenda. In Portugal, along with a strong growth of higher education graduates, the unemployment of this population also increased. Higher education has been criticized for not offering graduates with appropriate skills to the labour market. The analysis of job advertisements suggests that companies divulge their requirements to eventually attract adjusted candidates. They can also do so to inform higher education institutions about the skills that may increase the employability of the graduates. They hope that eventually there will be a reconfiguration of programmes and pedagogical methodologies to satisfy their requirements.
