presentation
There are three general objectives of underlying this project:
1) to discuss and reflect on the urban policies produced in Portugal after the 1998 Lisbon International Expo (Expo '98), in order to create bases of support for future strategic lines of development;
2) to promote a comprehensive reading of rehabilitation plans, programmes and projects in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area after 1998, framing the way in which these urban strategies and the design culture influenced the characteristics of other medium-sized cities in the national territory;
and 3) to outline and organize the existing information about the plans and programmes under study, as a basis for future critical readings on the changes that have taken place in Lisbon and in Portugal over the last twenty years.
