We are happy to share the new publication 'Comparative Approaches of Fast 360-degree Video-Based Survey of Inaccessible Heritage,' by the researchers Rolando Volzone (DINÂMIA'CET-Iscte) and Francesca Galasso (Università di Pavia).

In this work, the authors explored innovative 360-degree video-based survey methods for documenting fragile and inaccessible heritage sites, aiming to test how different camera paths (from simple perimeter walks to more complex trajectories) can influence the balance between speed, accuracy, and detail in 3D reconstructions.

The case study focused on the Convent of Nossa Senhora da Saudação in Montemor-o-Novo (Portugal), a site whose fragile condition makes it a powerful example for fast yet reliable digital documentation.

The article was published in the International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences as part of the 30th CIPA Heritage Documentation Symposium (Seoul, 2025).
