Summary
In this work, the Project of «Restoration of Gorongosa National Park» is taken as an example of the relevancy of the architect’s role in human territorial interventions and as a privileged player in improving the interrelations of the various areas of knowledge that take part in the transformation of the landscape, whether cultural or «natural». Taking into account the need of an overall interpretation of the data of a given territory and the multifarious wishes of its actors, the architect applies the basic requirements of its discipline as a natural result of his allembracing field of knowledge. Thus, by isolating the most relevant themes in the process of the restoration and conservation of the Gorongosa National Park, the architect takes the first step towards the sinergetic planning of the actions in hand, giving primacy to the ecological balance between the culture and its social sustainability. The result is a comprehensive research which conveys a methodological hypothesis for an overall understanding of the issue, with its own virtues and shortcomings, as well as an «architectural» proposal, constructed by means of a disciplinary network, aiming for an enduring full equilibrium
