This project intends to address a reality that has not yet been deepened as regards the incorporation of immigrant women into the labour market. The research will identify / uncover the gender stereotypes underlying the dominant global schemes of sexual division of labour and their intersection with international migration flows. The proposed research will focus on the multiple relationships between migrant labour and domestic work and will attempt to illustrate the processes through which a concentration of migrant female labour appears to reproduce in this particular sector leading to segmented and to the formation of occupational niches, is motivated through the structure of opportunities in the context of reception, is determined by the social networks themselves of which these immigrants are part.
