This cross-cutting dimension includes various actions to disseminate the activities and results of WPs, namely through publications, news in the media, and events (conferences, seminars, etc.). It aims to maximize the impact on individuals, entities, and communities, which will occur at various levels and moments through different mechanisms.
The Observatory will develop its own visual identity and several communication tools, of which the digital platform is the most visible part. The digital platform will provide up-to-date information and divulge the results and activities. It will include online interactive tools developed to facilitate engagement, collaboration, and information sharing among target groups and stakeholders.
The events and activities of the project feed and diffuse the research on an ongoing basis, maintaining the constant attention of the stakeholders in the processes triggered by the project.
The living lab (researchers, companies, community citizens, organizations, local authorities, and policymakers) helps to spread the project findings, facilitates feedback from relevant stakeholders, and provides ground for discussion and action.
We will Internationalize the Observatory within the network of already established observatory platforms dedicate to the study of urban metabolism and urban sustainability, within which the Coordinator of this proposal has already established contacts, including: The Metabolism of Cities platform, the Institute of Socio-ecology of Vienna (Austria), the Spatial Morphology Group (SmoG) of the Chalmers University (Sweden), the Habitat Research Centre at the EPFL (Switzerland) and the MIT Urban Metabolism Group (USA).
Continued communication efforts realized by all team members will increase the visibility of the projects and reach a high number of stakeholders.
The results of the research will be discussed and further support teaching and supervision activities in educational programs.
